The National Museums of Kenya (NMK) is the custodian of Kenya’s cultural, historical, and natural heritage. Established under the Museums and Heritage Act (2006), NMK is a multi-disciplinary institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, researching, and presenting Kenya’s rich heritage.
Through its network of museums, heritage sites, and national monuments, NMK serves as a hub for education, scientific research, and cultural preservation. Our mission is to ensure sustainable conservation, knowledge sharing, and public engagement, fostering a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s diverse history and environment for both local and global communities.
